Dear Colleagues, The Graduate Division is thrilled to host the 8th Annual Grad SLAM, a competitive speaking event showcasing the impact of graduate student research. Grad SLAM presentations are 3-minute research impact talks with content designed to be accessible to a general audience. Grad SLAM is also a systemwide competition with campus finalists proceeding to a championship event where they compete with peers from our sister UC campuses. The 2021 systemwide Grad SLAM championship will proceed in a virtual format in spring. To prepare for competition Grad SLAM participants are invited to workshops on crafting their research story, creating engaging slides, and refining public speaking skills, as well as coaching sessions in preparation for competition. Please encourage graduate students in your areas to participate in this beneficial and exciting program!
